What I Have Done As Magistrate And What I Will Continue To Do
-
- As the only Republican Female, only Mother, only Active Duty military veteran and youngest member of the Fiscal Court, I bring a perspective to the court that is just needed, and had been void of in the past. My unique experiences allow for this particular viewpoint to be at the table.
- As the only Republican Female, only Mother, only Active Duty military veteran and youngest member of the Fiscal Court, I bring a perspective to the court that is just needed, and had been void of in the past. My unique experiences allow for this particular viewpoint to be at the table.
- Eight years ago, I pledged to VOTE MY VALUES and never be a “rubber stamp” vote and I have kept that promise. If re-elected I will continue to always listen and discern the issues that profoundly impact the citizens and character of Oldham County.
- As a mother of five, it’s my passion to ensure that Oldham County, known as “Quietly Amazing,” will remain a special place where our children and your children and grandchildren would like to return to and raise their families one day.
- On multiple occasions, I was in the minority on the court when I voted against haphazard building placement proposals that would disturb (and have!) and try to destroy the character and integrity of our county.
- Have won several awards for my work to keep Oldham County the healthiest county in the Commonwealth, including one for championing the No Outside Liquor advertising on new Establishments near schools from the Youth Linking Oldham County group, organized through Keeping Oldham County Healthy! And, I work with KYTC and other state agencies to install School Zone signals around the county to guard the safety of our children, to ensure the blind corners remain mowed and road striping and signs are visible and up to date. All of the safety and health measures I am able to quietly advocate for from this position helps to keep Oldham County Safe and Healthy.
- In my first term, I was proud to cast my vote to make our county a Constitutional County, protecting our citizens’ right to bear arms.
- I fought for and stood with the community to keep the Westport Park riverfront trees.
- I will continue to work to incentivize small business growth in the county, encouraging local restaurants to open within Oldham County, while both continuing our “small town” feel and giving citizens variety.
- I will continue to oppose unfair tax proposals.
- Currently working to implement connectivity throughout the county through sidewalks and biking paths, as I believe a connected county is a healthy county. We can do this without opening the roads to unnecessary additional vehicle traffic. An example of this is when I addressed the Planning Commission in Feb 2026 regarding the proposal for over 700 homes’ traffic connecting to neighborhoods off 1818 and all dumping out onto our already overburdened HWY 22! I advocated for connectivity without the vehicle cut-throughs, unnecessarily adding to more and more traffic!
- In my tenure as Magistrate I’ve taken as many courses as I can to continue to learn as much as I can about the job as a County Leader. In recent years, I’ve become certified as a Road Master through the University of Kentucky, a Road Scholar also through UK, and certified in Managing Floodplain Development through FEMA. These courses help me to follow my approach of: I cannot try to combat the problems unless I know what the problems are!
- As Chair of the Environmental, Recycling and Utilities Committee, I work with constituents to mitigate so many longstanding flooding issues throughout our district and county. Additionally, I work with Republic Services to keep quality high and rates low on garbage pickup. Also, along with our county solid waste coordinator, I work to apply for grants that fund our Clean State Roads Initiative as well as keep our county Recycling Center staffed and running smoothly.
- In my first term, as a parent and Magistrate, I challenged the heavy hand of government and successfully advocated for the lifting of the OC school Mask Mandates. After I publicly expressed displeasure with our health department for their continued recommendation of masks to the school superintendent, US Congressman Thomas Massie posted the clip of the exchange on his Twitter (X) account. Two hours and 28K views later, Oldham County “reviewed our data” and our school mask mandates were lifted. We were the first of all the surrounding counties to do so.
- One of the most impactful Committees I’m proud to be a member of is our Oldham County Opioid Abatement Settlement Funds Dispersement Committee. We all have been impacted by Opioid Misuse and Abuse and most of us know someone who has lost their life to drug overdose. There is an unnecessary shame that can go along with the subject but we are working to allow a comfort to say these things out loud and have the dialog. Those who need help are now more able to receive non-judgmental help like no other time in the past and families are being walked alongside on the journey as a loved one takes each next best step in recovery. This committee is one that only the Lord knew I needed because seeing this positive change…its motivating me to keep going strong with helping people as much as I can, from this platform you all have elected me to be on, to make a positive difference! If you would like to partner in this effort or if you’d like information on how to reach people who will walk alongside you as you help a loved one walk their recovery journey, please reach out to me and I’ll help plug you in. Additionally, we need community advocates! Training is provided through the Health Department and other resources.
- DATA CENTERS – HERE IS WHERE I STAND: Last spring Oldham County was approached by an out-of-state organization regarding the potential of putting a data center here in Oldham County. At the time, no one had heard the words Data and Center used together in a sentence, let alone used together to describe ANYTHING before. So, as with any potential development in Oldham County, I set out to do my homework on the matter and attended many meetings and discussions about data centers – some held by a lobbyist group against data centers, some held by data center folks and people in that industry and others held by the Chamber of Commerce (now called Oldham County Economic Development) and many of these meetings included community leaders who were also trying to figure out what these things were. Why did I attend these meetings? It’s very simple… I attend all development meetings that I can and always will. Why? Because I cannot combat unwanted development or find any potential “wins” in a project I ultimately cannot stop (e.i. being out-voted on the fiscal court) if I DON’T ATTEND THE MEETINGS AND INFORM MYSELF DEEPLY on each subject matter.
- We are over a year out from first hearing Data and Center used together in a sentence and YOU and I have made it a point to learn all we can about this industry. And while there is quite a bit of information about them, I do know that there is not enough long-term data on them for me to be confident that they are good for a community over a long period of time. From Fiscal Court, we have placed a data center moratorium until we can get some definitions and regulations on the books. I can tell you as part of the team actively working on these regulations, they will have the most spelled out and clear expectations of any other county ordinance. We are ensuring there is NO ambiguity or loopholes. Additionally, I don’t think an AI or Hyperscale size one fits into our Oldham County Charm and am pushing to completely ban any of those from locating here.
- I am far and away the most anti-bad-development member of fiscal court, proven by 7 plus years of voting against developments and am often the “lone dissent” vote on many development projects in our county. The reason why I initially ran for office 8 years ago was to stop haphazard development in OC and get a rein on it to keep our quietly amazing county precious. I have had many “wins” on this and hope to accomplish many more if re-elected. My platform is: limited, responsible development, only when it coincides with the peace and tranquility of our rolling hills, nature-filled neighborhoods, dark skies and only when it does not further burden our roads with traffic!
Please join me in my battle to keep Oldham County special and continue to make it a place our children and grandchildren want to raise their families in! Oldham County is the quintessential American and Kentucky County. It is my passion to help preserve, carefully develop, and logically steer it’s future, while preserving it’s past. After having the opportunity to travel the country through the military and our family business, I have seen first hand how incredibly well so many places preserve their character, charm and history, while allowing tourists plenty of opportunity to spend money. I want to continue to work at keeping Oldham County Oldham County! Would you help me do this and let me know that I can count on your vote on May 19th? I really appreciate your support!
Request for your vote and my Commitment to YOU
I respectfully ask for your vote for RE-ELECTION on May 19 and, if re-elected, I will humbly, honorably and gratefully continue to serve YOU to the best of my ability, bringing an accurate VOICE and REPRESENTATION to Fiscal Court for YOU, my neighbors, in District 6.
